This family friendly parade stepping off at 10 am will feature more than 80 organizations with floats, walkers, trolleys, entertainment, music, balloons and more rainbows, acceptance and love than your heart can handle! The parade begins at Carry Lane and ends at Ridgefield Lane and attendees are encouraged to line Checker Drive in their best rainbow gear! No tickets are necessary for the parade and absolutely everyone is welcome! Unfortunately, the village does not allow dogs. The Buffalo Grove Park District's festival (http://bgparks.org/event/summer/uniquelyus.aspx), Uniquely Us: A Celebration of Community, will follow from noon to late afternoon at Mike Ryalko Park. The festival will feature Drag Entertainment, Cat Fight, community entertainment, a DJ, food trucks, a beer and wine tent, vendors and so much more!
Aurora Pride Weekend 2019
There are a LOT of cool things happening downtown during Aurora Pride Weekend 2019. Some of which can get lost on this platform. To make it easier we are publishing the authoritative list of Pride Weekend activities on our organization website. Bookmark this site on your smartphone for updates, and let us know if we've missed significant Pride events open to the public.
Last year, with Southwest Suburban Activists, we hosted the very first Pride Fest in the southwest suburbs, at Yunker Farm in Mokena. It was the first time the LGBTQIA+ community were able to celebrate their presence in our area. This year, Instill Pride is happy to announce that June 8th, 2019 will be the Second Annual Pride Fest!
Join us as we continue our mission of visibility and building on the sense of belonging that we started last year. We will be celebrating Pride, being out and open, communicating that we are an affirming and welcoming community, empowering our youth, and discussing human rights, and ultimately the right to love WHOEVER YOU WANT.
Join us for a FREE fun family picnic and dog rescue benefit (complete with puppy cuddles), music, food, games, and more! Bolingbrook PRIDE aims to support LGBTQ acceptance through family-friendly community activities and we'd love to have you celebrate with us!
